A traditional Gujarati thali, a Butter Idli, or any number of other delightful dishes, Mumbai’s diverse food is a testament to Mumbai’s multiculturalism. We have compiled some of the most excellent restaurants and eateries in Mumbai, including a wide variety of cuisines and cuisines from all across the city.

1.    Butter Chicken Sushi Roll at Yugo Sushi

The Bombay Roll at Yugo Sushi is popularly known as the Butter Chicken Sushi Roll. If ‘paan’ macarons and gulab jamun cheesecakes aren’t your things, you’ll like the butter chicken wrapped in a nori sheet with pickled veggies, which is a little dry (but not a bad thing, as curry can’t possibly seep through the roll).

How to Get There: Yugo Sushi, Shop No. 8 Sefa House wing A 7, Pali Mala Road, Bandra’s Pali Hill.

Rs 1,000 for a two-person meal.

2.    Dark Chocolate Macarons at Le 15 Patisserie

Macarons were introduced to Mumbai by Pooja Dhingra, the proprietor of Le 15 Patisserie. ‘Paan’ and ‘Lemon Chilli’ macarons may be found here, but the Dark Chocolate macarons at Le 15 Patisserie are the best.

On the ground floor of Siffin Apartments on Dr. Ambedkar Road on Pali Hill in Bandra West, you’ll find Le 15 Patisserie.

Rs 500 for a two-person meal.

3.    Chicken / Veg Shashlik at Kobe Sizzlers

The enormous sizzlers at Kobe Sizzlers, which are often served on a bed of rice and accompanied by thick cut fries and different vegetables, are a must-have while visiting Mumbai. There are several sizzlers on the menu, but the Shashlik (grilled chicken or paneer) is a must-have.

Restaurants: Sukh Sagar Marina Mansion Chowpatty Sea-Face Lamington Road Hughes Road Kobe Sizzlers 13/14 Sukh Sagar.

4.    Apple Pie at Yazdani Bakery & Restaurant

If you’re in the mood for something sweet, this Iranian cafe’s handwritten menu has an apple pie that tastes like a decadent, handmade version!

You’ll find us at St. Thomas Cathedral at Fort Worth’s Yazdani Bakery & Restaurant.

Rs 200 for a two-person meal.

5.    Ragda Pattice at Ram & Shyam

When Ram &Shyam opens at 3pm, the mob of regulars and interested observers makes this food cart seem much more extensive than life. Ragda Pattice and chaat are two of our favourites, but it’s hard to choose one over the other.

On North Avenue in Santacruz West at Ram & Shyam

Rs 150 for a two-person meal.

6.    Ginger Cookies at American Express Bakery

The American Express Bakery features everything from substantial sandwiches to cakes, tarts, and cookies that won’t leave a hole in your wallet! Their Ginger Cookies, evocative of the ones offered by Marks & Spencer’s food area in London but at a fraction of the price, are the best of the bunch.

Where: American Express Bakery, Villa Sushma Plot No. 87, Hill Road, Bandra West, Mumbai.

Rs 250 for a two-person meal.

7.    Bombil Fry at Soul Fry

There are two things that Soul Fry is renowned for its Monday night karaoke evenings, as well as their unrivalled Goan seafood cuisine, which includes the Bombil Fry.

Bandra West, Pali Mala Road, next to the Pali Vegetable Market.

Rs 1,000 for a two-person meal

TAGGED: food near me, foodie, khau galli, Mumbai food, places to eat
