Any living thing may call the natural world its home. Imagine a single species of all occupants constantly attempting to destroy the home that has been provided to all the living cosmos.
You must be asking yourself, and I’m sure others are too, how someone could ever attempt to damage their own house.
We, as humans, are harming our home even if we believe we are acting unwittingly when we toss away any synthetic object, regardless of whether it is made from environmentally friendly components or not.
It’s time to put an end to our habit of destroying the environment, as environmental scientists tell us that we only have a decade left to utilize the natural resources that are now available to us since they are already depleted.
The Theme of World Nature Conservation Day
“Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet” is this year’s World Nature Conservation Day theme.
Humans’ sustainable use of nature, conservation efforts, mining, and hunting are all intertwined in this issue.
History of World Nature Conservation Day
• On World Nature Conservation Day, we want people to think about how humans have abused the natural world and take action to protect it.
• Overuse of natural resources has left humanity vulnerable to the wrath of climate change, natural catastrophes, viral illnesses like Covid-19, and higher temperatures, to name just a few of the consequences.
The Meaning of The World Nature Conservation Day
• World Nature Conservation Day is observed annually on the 28th of July to increase public awareness about the need to maintain the planet’s natural resources and to convey the urgency of preserving those things that can never be replaced.
• On this day, we are reminded of the importance of sustainability, and we are reminded that we need to be more aware of the potential implications of our activities.
• For our survival, the Earth gives us with fundamental components such as soils, water, air and animals and asks us to maintain their cleanliness.
• There are a number of dangers, such deforestation and drought, as well as the widespread use of plastics.
• The origins of World Nature Conservation Day are obscure, but the day serves as a reminder for us to take stock of our individual contributions and join forces for a more sustainable future that preserves the wonders of our mother nature.
Simple Things You Can Do to Help Conserving the Natural Resources
• Think carefully before tossing anything away. Reuse and recycle because of the selfishness of others, some individuals lack the most basic necessities for survival. Additionally, you may be able to lessen the amount of land and energy needed to create the new product you want to purchase.
• Don’t squander the water that flows down the drain while you’re waiting for your shower to warm up. Keep it in the bucket and water your plants, instead of throwing it away.
• Sow a tree: Trees provide oxygen and sustenance for the human body. Moreover, they increase the quality of water.
• Avoid dumping used oil down the drain: 1 million liters of pure water are polluted by 1 liter of waste oil. Here, you may learn what to do with them after they’ve gone off the market.
• Make informed decisions while you’re out shopping: Whenever you go shopping, bring your own cloth bags with you. Reduce the use of plastic bags wherever possible. You’ll be surprised to learn that doing so even lowers the amount of money you spend!
