Sure, we love to talk about clothes on the runway as much as anyone, but let’s not overlook the shoes. After all, shoes make everyone look fabulous—there are no boundaries to the styles you can explore! When the spring/summer collections hit the runway, we were excited to greet old favorites like sneakers and slides, while also feeling optimistic about stilettos and platforms. Regardless of your heel-height preference, bright colors and luxe details were at the forefront, an optimistic call to get up, pull on a pair of kicks, and greet the world with self-confidence.
Here are the shoe trends we’re gearing up for in 2022.
1. State-of-the-art Heels
Sculptural heels are one of the hottest shoe trends for 2022 that is already showing up in full throttle. Thanks to an avalanche of abstract shapes, styles, and dreamy silhouettes that can be found everywhere from Chanel to Zara, suiting all budgets. Despite their creative design, their solid silhouettes make them one of the more comfortable heel options. Sculptural heels, like statement jewelry for the feet, are easy to wear and even easier to style.
2. Flashy Pumps
We are still kicking our heels high when we get the chance, and the glitzier the better. Forget a staple black pump, go for holographic rainbow, vinyl cutouts, and crystal embellishments galore. There are casual shoes for girls, and there are formal shoes, there is party wear footwear, there are date ready shoes. But the pumps are the most flexible pair of shoes for women there can ever be!
3. Platform
Is there anything more iconic than Naomi Campbell in those towering Vivienne Westwood platforms in 1993? Sure, she fell, but she bounded up gracefully and the moment was sealed forever in fashion history. With an apparent thick sole, usually in the range of 3–10 cm, and a heel that is raised significantly higher than the ball of the foot, platform heels are not for clumsy women. Platform Heels designs a high heel that is cushiony, comfortable, and stylish. It is difficult to find a pair of platform heels that are high quality but have a low-price tag.
4. Evergreen Loafers
Loafers, creepers, anything you’re calling ‘em, we’re wearing ‘em. Both flat and heeled loafers are trendy in 2022. This timeless shoe is an excellent combination of practical comfort and elegant style. Pair flat loafers with ankle cut trousers, jeans, or even yoga pants and blazer for a dressed-up, yet casual aesthetic. When it comes to heeled loafers, opt for block heels or open backs, and wear them with midi-length skirts, tailored pants, and wide-leg jeans.
5. Open Toe Sandals
Keeping it simple, and easy to breathe, open-toe sandals are the best type of shoes to be wearing in the summer. The designs are completely flexible and they’ll let your feet breathe without ever getting too hot or too cold.
6. Strappy lace-up sandals
Strappy lace-up sandals are everywhere right now, possibly in line with the midriff-flossing trend. A strappy sandal can take you from espadrilles to heels and from a day of exploring to a night at the club. These shoes are making an undeniable comeback, thanks to celebrities like Rihanna and Irina Shayk. Not a fan of heels? Not a problem. You can still wear these fashionable strappy sandals with or without heels. We will be seeing a lot of straps with medium heel heights and simple straps that go with everything in your closet in 2022.
7. Pointed-toe Mules
If you’ve been paying attention to your favorite celeb/influencer’s footwear game on Instagram in recent months, you’ve probably noticed that things have become a little more blatant. While the square-toe shoe trend is far from done, the newest shape to try right now is the pointed-toe mules. The pointed toe has been a standard classic for as long as we can remember. This shoe trend has already become a favorite piece among celebs like Kylie Jenner, Margot Robbie, and other stylish influencers.
8.Combat Boots
The famous ‘always-in’ boot may be thought of as a late-fall or winter essential, but numerous celebrities have demonstrated that these bad boys can be worn all year. Combat boots found their way yet again on the Spring/Summer 2022 runways for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Dior. These shoes are a great idea if you want to transform your summer clothes into attractive fall attire with just one change. Or wearing combat boots with slouchy jeans. You can also combine this look with the corset, for a seamless transition into fall. On breezy days, you can add a leather blazer to complete the outfit.
9.Fuzz, Fur, Fringe
Furry slipper slides are comfortable and stylish enough to slay both inside and outside the house. This shoe style works as a statement piece, it gives a basic T-shirt and shorts, a sundress, or even a sweatsuit a playful twist. In addition to being one of the world’s most convenient footwear trends, there are a lot of great options to the checkout. From Zara to Fendi, every brand is currently making furry sandals.
10. Straight Leg Boots
Say goodbye to the super tight footwear that you can’t walk in, and say hello to these straight-leg boots. Not only do they look amazing with long and flowing dresses, but they’re a great way to keep yourself warm when the temperature drops. Choose from something simple and understated, or go wild with a funky pattern or an animal print. If you’re ready to show extra legs, rock these shoes with a short skirt and a long jacket, and you’ll be hitting up the streets in style all day.
