Eric Yuan is a young entrepreneur, and is not new to anyone as he is the one who bought Zoom; perhaps it’s a common household name everywhere across the globe. Zoom is extensively used by people, primarily for meeting at work, and also for celebrating and sometimes even mourning. Every company for connecting with their colleagues, business associates, and clients are depending on Zoom in present times.
Eric Yuan, a Chinese entrepreneur, founder, the business executive is best known as the CEO and founder of the Zoom company. At the age of 48 years, Eric started his career as Vice President of WebEx Company, where he was a founding member where he served from 1997 till 2007. He started with a team of 10 engineers and now has 800+ engineers across the globe. The revenue growth of the company started from $0 to $700 million.
Yuan launched the company in 2011 as he gauged that video communication is one of the emerging tools, which has tremendous potential, and was convinced that it will be a mainstream service in the future. Eric was born in the year 1970 and has graduated from Shandong University of Science and Technology. He also persuaded a master’s degree in Engineering.
The interesting thing is that his visa was rejected about eight times, but finally, he landed a job at WebEx in 1997. By 2014 the Zoom Company had 10 million users and just by 2015, it reached 40 million. That same year Zoom secured $30 million in Series C Venture Capital funding from investors included the Yahoo founder Jerry. The company’s private market value hit $1 billion for the first time in June 2007.
