President Droupadi Murmu of the BJP-led NDA was inaugurated on Thursday. After Ram Nath Kovind’s resignation, she became the country’s first tribal leader to assume the position of prime minister. Her opponent was Yashwant Sinha, the Opposition’s selection, who has since congratulated her on the win.
DroupadiMurmu, the nominee of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), beat Yashwant Sinha, the opposition candidate, to become the next President of India on Thursday. On July 25, she will be sworn in as the 15th President of India, succeeding Ram Nath Kovind, who will step down on July 24. After Pratibha Patil, Murmu is the only woman to hold the country’s highest constitutional position and the only member of the tribal group to hold the office of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

20,000 ladoos have been prepared by residents of Murmu’s birthplace of Rairangpur, and hoardings celebrating “Odisha’s daughter” have been put up. The community is confident in her victory and is gearing up for a festive celebration. The “daughter of the land” is being congratulated by a wide range of local groups, including businesses, bar associations, religious and educational institutions, and even government authorities.
Meanwhile, Murmu’s village has beefed up security in anticipation of big crowds later in the day. To commemorate the triumph, almost 10 quintals of ladoos have been created Locals said the sweets will be handed out outside Murmu’s residence.

President Kovind’s term ends on July 24. The next president will take office on July 25. Room 63, the Parliament’s “strong room,” was used by election authorities to tally the ballots. The ballot boxes were secured 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On Tuesday evening, all state assembly vote boxes had arrived in Parliament’s strong room and have been secured there ever since. As ‘Mr Ballot Box,’ the ballot boxes had been flown to Delhi from all around the country. It was the Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) from their separate states that watched as ‘Mr Ballot Box’ made his way inside the plane. An electronic ticket with the name “Mr Vote Box” was provided to each ballot box, according to the EC.
The presidential election was conducted on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 31 venues, including the Parliament building and 30 centers within state legislative assembly. the polls
Eight members of parliament were unable to vote because of illness, including BJP members Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dhotre.
After receiving 7,02,044 of the 10,69,358 total votes cast, Kovind was elected President, defeating his challenger Meira Kumar by a margin of 3,67,314 votes.
