Mr Hitanshu started his business journey at a very early age. Fascinated by the top successful business creators who have made companies worth billions of dollars and haven’t even fished their college degrees, Hitanshu had a spark and a self-belief that he was also not born for a mediocre life. Hitanshu doesn’t complain about the problems around him; he always looks for ideas to solve the problems and tries to create a business around that ideas. However, creating a successful business isn’t a bed of roses. You don’t always get a win like many of the movies show you. However, the learning mindset and the attitude to never give up taking him to where he is today. Let’s look at his story, which is quite inspiring and has valuable lessons for those just stepping into the business realm.
The Begining
“I did my schooling from the Kendriya Vidyalaya and then went to Maharashi Dayanand University for graduation. However, I learned about the concept of business via a video on YouTube when I was in 9th grade. It was the year 2015, and I made up my mind that I would become a businessman and create the life of my dreams.”
Just like most of the school-going kids back then, Hitanshu had no clue of where to start. He used to watch movies that inspired him or that taught him something or the other. However, the exciting lesson from all those documentaries and TV shows that involved inspiring rags to riches stories of people included that every successful person focused on one key mantra to be successful: “Follow your passion”.
“I wondered if I might be able to do something that would make my story inspiring. Moreover, with all the curiosity and confusion in my head, I started following my current passion, The High Jump.”
In his 10th grade, Mr Hitanshu competed in a high jump event and earned a gold medal at the state level before moving on to nationals, where he placed second in the event. All of this was the result of him following his passion.
After finishing high school in 2017, Mr Hitanshu went on to study Btech Computer Science, which is when his official Entrepreneurial Journey began. He rarely went to college because he was always indulged in start-up discussions and meetings to learn from other entrepreneurs to do something big in life.
Business Life
“My first idea for a business came from a conversation with a friend who asked if I could borrow his notes as I was involved with my entrepreneurial dreams. He replied that he didn’t have proper notes for the subject that someone could borrow and understand.”
“Exams were nearby, and it was a pain to go through the complete books for covering the syllabus. Although it took me nights to somehow pass the exams, but the experience left me with the idea that I could turn it into a working business. I tried starting an online platform by contacting various institutions and students through social media to add notes on the platform. We gathered a large number of notes and uploaded them, and kept a membership fee of about 50 INR per month to access the content. This was my entry into the business world.”
Things were going good until some issues arrived. Mr Hitanshu tried his best to fix the issues with the platform, but the lack of experience caused the company to fail since they ran out of funds.
“Failure is the key to success, and this was my first failure in the Business World that involved a lot of hard work, emotions, pain and lessons.”
With his foray into the business world, Mr Hitanshu learned how to understand customers, think like them, and alleviate their pain points.
As a result of this experience, in his third year in college, he took steps toward his next venture.
“In 2020, my parents began looking for interior designers for our home. I reached out to several interior designers, but they all wanted a price that was out of our budget. I also reached out to numerous local vendors via social media but couldn’t find anyone who could give me an exact look I was going for.”
With the philosophy of enjoying the process more than the result and the experiences gained through various internships in multiple business sectors, Mr Hitanshu started his own firm, which was a success, and is still doing well.
“When we were starting our businesses, we didn’t have a proper office where we could work. So, we went to a nearby park, sat down with our laptops, and got to work. We always look for a place where we can do our work quietly while using their hot spots, so we could enjoy the moment instead of blaming our circumstances.”
Team Building
“Our primary concern when selecting new members of our team is whether or not they are interested in our line of work; we don’t just look at their educational background. The second consideration is whether or not that person has a genuine desire to work with us; a lack of a genuine desire is a huge red flag. A team member, not a competitor, is the ideal candidate who we always look for.”
Mr Hitanshu believes that while starting a company, one is not limited to a specific role. There are hundreds of tasks involving marketing, creative work, product designing and development and sales. In business, it’s more crucial to be open to change, update, and accept criticism.
“It was great fun to meet so many intelligent people on this adventure, and I learnt a lot from them. Then, we put what we learned into practice, and that was how we both learned and had fun. Taking care of clients as though they were members of a large family was one of my favourite aspects of working at a company I worked for.”
How to Handle Failures?
“There is no such thing as success or failure when it comes to my career path. It’s always about you and whether or not you are having a good time. Whatever you accomplish now will always be relevant in the future; nothing you learn today will be useless. Ups and downs are normal in my professional career. Every time we tried anything new or improved, it was better than the first time.”
Mr Hitanshu advises new entrepreneurs who feel they can make a difference to Solve a greater issue, learn, and earn.
One may start a company at any moment, and that time is now. To start a company, one doesn’t need much money. All it takes is a learning mindset and an attitude to fall seven times and get back up the eighth.
